Tell us about Allied Pickfords.
Allied Pickfords and the Allied Network is the largest moving and relocation services company in the world. Allied move over 1,000 families every day in more than 175 countries, handling more than 50,000 international moves per year. Allied Pickfords specialty is the movement of personal effects and household goods for expatriate staff from all over the world. The company also provides local moving and office relocation services within Singapore. Allied Pickfords is the only provider with the global reach and local expertise to move anyone, anywhere, at any time.
How does IT affect your business?
Allied Pickfords servers are located in our IT department in Melbourne, Australia. Our company moves a great deal of information and we need a system that is consistently quick as well as reliable because we work with very tight resources from a labor perspective. We always rely on the system and if the system is slow, then the team cannot get the work done.
How has eVantage Technology helped your business?
Part of the problem with our previous IT vendor was that they didn’t have the knowledge or the expertise that really assisted us. eVantage Technology, on the other hand, has been great in this respect. When they first came in they ran an audit on all our systems and computers so they could know and understand where they were starting from. It gave us an opportunity to know what we needed to change, what we needed to fix and what we needed to improve on. This was important in making sure that all the systems were consistent.
Describe your experience working with eVantage Technology.
I am a very big proponent of eVantage Technology. We have a contract with them and rather than having one of their engineers come out once a week for four hours, my preference is for them to come out twice a week for two hours. eVantage Technology have always been very flexible in meeting our requirements.
Why do you continue to work with eVantage Technology?
If I have any questions, I know I can go to anyone in eVantage Technology. They always have the answers, so from a knowledge point of view, it’s always been great. eVantage has always helped us with everything we need.
